This bonny white mohair J.K.Farnell bear was made soon after World War Two, and is only 28cm (11″) tall. Completely original, Freddie is kapok-stuffed with a woodwool head, and has the later more bulbous nose, embroidered in light beige thread, with a matching mouth.

Typical of the period, Freddie wasn’t given any claws, and his rexine pads are now mostly worn down to the cotton cloth backing. His joints work fine, though his squeaker has worn out, but he’s kept more or less all of his beautiful fur, and is in overall lovely condition.

Freddie is wearing a pair of hand-knitted dungarees, with a multi-coloured silk thread plaited ‘scarf’. And, being specially fond of geese – he sports an RSPB Barnacle Goose badge – he loved playing with our farmyard musical box as they’re illustrated on the tin!
