Kit is a handsome, early mohair bear, possibly French, with a rather unusual pattern of paw claws (one is missing), otherwise comprising five stitches, as with his feet, but they’re more classically sewn. Kit’s rexine pads date him to c.1930s, and there’s some surface cracking, along with a couple of holes.

Firmly woodwool-stuffed, Kit is 48cm (19″)  tall, with a non-working growler thumping around his torso. He’s all original with boot button eyes, and black embroidered features, and he’s fully-jointed.

Kit has a shaved muzzle, while his gold mohair shows some fading, but the coverage is very good. With his poignant expression, long body and arms, he’s a fine old bear, and wears the knitted jacket he arrived in, with matching booties, and a vintage sunflower brooch, plus woven neck ribbon.
