A dashingly-handsome Steiff bear, with a rare centre seam running through the length of his head. He also has a rather sun-kissed face! Horatio no longer retains his earbutton, but dates to c.1908, and stands 50cm (20″) tall. He’s mostly original, apart from a few extra nose threads, and a resewn mouth.

Woodwool-stuffed, Horatio was most likely a brown silver-tipped teddy, now faded to blonde (paler than in our pics), as in-between his joints his mohair has a brownish tinge. Horatio’s felt pads are in good condition, with just a couple of patches to each paw, and he still has a few claws remaining.

There’s a tiny hole to the right side of his muzzle, otherwise Horatio is in great shape, and his joints work fine. Even though he’s lost some fur, it’s all mainly at the front and he’s generally very well-endowed, with an accentuated humped back.

This fine figure of a bear, is dressed in an old-style tailed cotton twill sailor jacket, with a detachable collar, and co-ordinating pantaloons. He also sports a ‘King George’s Fund for Sailors’ badge, and gold anchor charm threaded onto silk ribbon. He’s now waiting for his ship to come in!
