Harry is a charming, 1950s Chiltern ted with a distinctive black-moulded ‘dog-nosed’ – so called because Chiltern also used the nose on their canines. He’s 38cm (15″) tall, and kapok-stuffed with a woodwool head.

All original, with pale amber lock-in safety eyes, and a black-embroidered mouth, Harry also has rexine pads, some of which are surface-worn.

His pale gold mohair shows overall thinning, with some badness on his tummy, where his now silent squeaker is positioned, but his joints work fine. There’s a little settlement of filling to his torso, and around his neck, along with his thighs. Overall, though, Harry is a good sturdy bear.

He’s a bit of a poser, fancying himself as a male bear model, so insisted we take lots of pics. He’s wearing a pair of handknitted flecked dungarees, the bib of which can be unbuttoned or tucked inside to transform them into a pair of trousers. Also, a multi-coloured plaited silk neck tie, and knitted booties.
