A dearly-loved, white mohair Steiff bear, with original features c.1920s (no button). Woodwool-stuffed, Albie is 40cm (16″) tall, and has a beautiful long muzzle, with a pronounced humped back.

His glass eyes are back-painted amber, while his nose, mouth, and claws are embroidered in tan thread. Albie’s felt footpads are in near minty condition, with just a sewn repair at one heel, whereas his paw pads have patched inserts.

The stuffing has settled in Albie’s arms and, to a lesser degree, his legs and ankles. Also, around his neck, but a non-working growler keeps his head held high.  All Albie’s joints are fully-mobile, if a touch swingy and, on the whole, he’s a lovely sturdy ted.

Although Albie has lost quite a lot of fur, he’s proud to have retained a fair amount for a centurion bear. He’s dressed in a handsewn, fully-lined sailor jacket, pinned with a vintage ‘RNLI Help Lifeboats’ badge. He also wears a nautical cotton neckerchief, and handmade sailor hat. He’s now waiting to be rescued like Robinson Crusoe!
