An old, and rather grubby American ‘Bed-time-Pals’ velvet elephant called Wiggle. We’re not sure of his age, but he has an embroidered Giffords foot-label (Fall River, Mass.).  We can’t find any info about this company, so if any of our American friends can shed any light we’d love to hear from you.

Wiggle measures 36 cms (14″) tall, and is stuffed with kapok. His arms are jointed, and he’s all original with clear glass eyes and felt foot-pads with patched repairs. His velvet has faded over the years – his upper torso is bright pink around his joints, and his legs a greenish colour.

Wiggle is in reasonably good condition, though his trunk has lost some its velvet nap, and the stuffing has settled making it wiggle about! He’s a cute character, and wears a string of two rusted bells around his neck.

It’s true I can wiggle my trunk – that’s why I’m called WIGGLE! Trunks are very useful things. I use mine for eating and drinking, and making trunk calls to my friends on the phone!
