A magnificent, American brown-black tipped alpaca mohair bear by the Pennsylvanian artist, Kathleen Wallace, of Stier Bears. Christened Brian, he’s 51 cms (20″) tall, and in fabulous condition, wearing his original Amish-made leather collar. Read Brian’s full description below.

Being a playful bear, I thought you’d like to see me in the garden with my favourite toys – a bouncy ball and a big brass bugle. Though I don’t think I’ll ever be able to play the bugle because the mouth piece is missing!  So I’ll just play with the tassels instead.

Character info

Brian by Stier Bears is a wonderful humpbacked ted, firmly stuffed and fully-jointed. He has shiny black button eyes, and a black-embroidered nose and mouth. His shaved muzzle is made of tipped brown alpaca, while the rest of him is black with a hint of brown tipping.

His pads are sueded beige, and he has a Stier Bears seam tag to his rear – or ‘tush’ as it’s called in America. Brian’s swing tag is crumpled and surface worn at the back, but his handwritten details inside are intact. This very handsome character is wearing his Amish-made, sturdy brown leather collar with brass studs.

Kathleen Wallace attended her fist bear show in 1982 and all 50 of her bears sold out. A professional seamstress, she made over 1000 bears, most of which were usually large-sized characters, with the tallest being an awesome 45 inches. She made both limited editions and one-of-a-kind, and exhibited worldwide in the United States, Australia, Japan and the UK. Her characters are  highly-collectable and keenly sought-after.
