A very sweet, blonde mohair American bear c.1912, known as Jenny, still wearing her Christie’s Auction tags from December 1999.
Jenny is 36 cms (14″) tall, and stuffed with woodwool. She has original shoebutton eyes, and a black-embroidered nose, mouth and claws.
Her felt pads are in good condition, with minimal wear, and her growler makes a brief burp when she’s tilted.
Jenny’s joints work fine, and she’s kept virtually all of her fur.
Overall, Jenny is a beautiful teddy, and is now dressed in a vintage knitted coat, pinned with an old brooch, plus antique lace-trimmed bloomers and embroidered shoes.
I’ve never seen myself in the Christie’s catalogue, so I’ve made a card to give to my new owner with my photo and name on the front.
I’ve decorated it with red, white and blue ribbons, the colour of the American flag.
I hope you like it!
